Replacing the old weathered/ rotted barge boards and scribe fillet to your property will vastly improve your properties exterior aesthetics and also provide all important weather proofing from water ingress. Eventually, without replacement your old barges and scribe will simply fall off leaving an ugly hole in your roof structure, which is then susceptible to leaks and further damage to your home.
The barge boards we use are: Primed LOSP treated pine barge boards. Standard sizing is: 188mm X 30mm, however we can supply wider barge boards up to 280mm if necessary. Sometimes the priming colour may vary on the barge boards. Usual colours are: Pink, Blue, Green and Yellow. This of course makes no difference as the new barge boards must be painted.
The scribe fillet we use is: Weathertex scribe fillet 105 X 9.5mm. This product is specifically designed for use as scribe fillet and is made from sustainable re constituted hardwood and other preservatives.
Barge boards and scribe fillet are usually painted after they have been installed on new homes by the painters, not during the job in bits. Entire timber framed and cladded architecturally designed new luxury homes are always painted AFTER building.
If your barge boards have a Western Power connection we cannot replace the barge with the connection point due to safety reasons. Consider installing a different connection point for Western Power to your home. Due to previous clients advising us of Western Powers exorbitant disconnection and re connection fees to the home owner and an inflexible disconnection timetable, we do not deal with or fit in with Western Power.

Barge boards we replaced on a Colorbond metal roof. Barge boards on metal roofs are a little different in that they do not have a scribe fillet. The barge boards are finished with a metal capping.
